The COVID-19 Work Group was charged by former Senior Vice Provost, Susan Capalbo. The group was co-chaired by Roberta Marinelli, former Dean of the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, and Peter Betjemann, former School Director of Writing, Literature, and Film. The group worked to uncover, measure, and communicate the impacts of the pandemic on academic faculty (including differential impacts associated with disciplinary fields, race, gender, and other factors) and mitigate impacts through the development of guidance, mentorship, and related policies and practices that can be feasibly and readily implemented. Opportunities for faculty and administrative engagement with the group was obtained via a faculty survey and listening sessions. The Workgroup’s final report regarding COVID accommodations was submitted to the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) in September, 2022. OFA anticipates a response to that report, and any associated updates or recommendations, by the end of the 2022-2023 academic year.
